Learn how to harness AI confidently while protecting your business, intellectual property, and customers. Artificial intelligence is transforming every industry, but it also presents significant legal, ethical, and regulatory challenges. As organizations increasingly adopt AI-powered tools, leaders must understand how to implement AI responsibly while managing legal risk and maintaining stakeholder trust. This webinar provides a practical overview of the evolving AI compliance landscape, including AI governance frameworks, data privacy obligations, intellectual property considerations, and ethical best practices.

Participants will learn how to develop effective AI policies, protect proprietary information, navigate copyright and patent issues, address bias and transparency concerns, and prepare for emerging domestic and international AI regulations.

Whether you are an executive, entrepreneur, legal professional, compliance officer, HR leader, or technology professional, this session will equip you with actionable strategies to build and deploy AI systems responsibly, protect your organization, and foster innovation with confidence.

Presented by the Entrepreneurial Strategy Series and Gearhart Law.

AGENDA:

  • Networking (11:30 am - 12 pm EDT)
  • Presentation (12 pm - 1:15 pm EDT)

OUR SPEAKERS:
Ericka Watson is a leading voice in privacy, AI governance, and data strategy, helping organizations rethink how data is governed, operationalized, and ethically leveraged in a rapidly evolving landscape.
As CEO of Data Strategy Advisors, she works with companies to move beyond static compliance models and build governance systems that scale with innovation. Her approach is grounded in over two decades of experience designing global privacy programs across organizations including Danaher, AbbVie, Abbott, GE Healthcare, and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
She is also the founder of MyDataMyDolla, a data-tech startup redefining the relationship between individuals and their data, shifting from passive collection to active ownership and participation.
Ericka’s work focuses on a critical gap in today’s market: organizations are accelerating AI adoption, but governance is struggling to keep pace. She helps leaders close that gap by embedding governance directly into how decisions are made, rather than treating it as a post-deployment exercise.
She advises the ABA and Uniform Law Commission on emerging issues in cognitive and neural data, and teaches at Northwestern University, preparing future leaders to navigate the legal and ethical dimensions of technology. Read more at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ericka-watson-data/

His career includes leadership roles at GEICO, the Department of Homeland Security, the USPTO, Foley & Lardner, Hogan Lovells, and boutique IP practices, where he has shaped IP policy, negotiated multimillion-dollar technology agreements, defended against patent assertion entities, and trained legal and technical teams on IP risk management. He earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Rutgers Law School while working full-time as a patent agent, and writes about AI-powered legal innovation at Modern Patent Law.
