Automation and Infrastructure Engineer

Brave · CA San Francisco, California, United States

Actively hiring Posted over 4 years ago

As an automation and infrastructure engineer one of your first projects will involve working closely with our ads team to enable them to move their deployments from ECS to EKS. You’ll be guided by the engineers responsible for our shared k8s clusters to adapt our existing gitops cluster config management to bring up brand new isolated clusters for the ads workloads. It will be an opportunity to suggest new best practices and explore patterns like canary or blue/green deployments.

The ideal candidate has a strong sense of best practices and principles including infrastructure as code, security baked in and devops as a culture - not as a team. We’re looking for someone who is self motivated, curious, and not afraid to dig in to learn new technologies. You should have an eye for building automations and tooling that developers love to use and that balances concerns including usability, security, scalability, ongoing cost and up front investment required.

Requirements:

  • Strong containerization technologies experience ( ECS, EKS, etc. )
  • Familiarity with automation technologies like Cloudformation and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and security ( VPCs, security groups. )
  • Familiarity with cloud identity management such as IAM.
  • Experience with software development via distributed development teams
  • Comfortable working in an open source setting.
  • A passion for helping protect users' privacy and security.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven record of getting things done.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Paid parental leave
  • Unlimited PTO (in most regions)
  • Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Life and Disability insurance coverage
  • Generous 401k plan
  • Stock option grant
  • Travel and conference budgets
  • Remote-friendly
